Our History
The Duramed FUTURES tournament has been held in Hammond since 2003
showcasing some of the best players on the Duramed FUTURES Tour. The event has been contested at the Lost Marsh Golf Club
since 2006. Last year's victor, Allison Fouch, earned her LPGA membership last year and is competing on the LPGA this year.
Our Charity - Lake Area United Way
In 2001 and 2002, the Lake Area United Way Board of Trustees restructured the organization to become a catalyst for positive change and to be more responsive to a changing region.
Out of the new structure an advisory council was formed called the Vision Council. The Vision Council is charged with assessing community needs and working with the Allocations Committee in directing resources to meet those needs.
To assist in allocating resources to address those needs, four fields of service were identified; Youth Development, Individual and Family Wellness, Community Building, and Crisis Intervention. Your contribution to United Way is targeted to these areas of need and you are helping to: counsel and provide shelter to battered spouses, find residential care and employment opportunities for mentally and physically challenged adults, feed an unemployed family, provide seniors with food and socialization, care for children in a safe and educational environment
